URBAN GREEN PLAZA
Rapid urbanization over the greenfield has led to the scarcity of available land for agriculture. Over time, this may result in scarcity of food production. This ill-effect of urbanization can be reduced by allowing farming in urban areas, where vegetables and fruits can be grown on the urban fabric. Urban farming will also help in reducing the urban heat island effect by maintaining a comfortable urban microclimate.
The Urban Green Plaza proposed in this study will help in the production of vegetables and fruits, and will sell these fresh products to the urban residents, and will also facilitate urban dwellers to practice their hobby of farming. So with the facilities of growing area, selling area, workshop area, cooking area, learning area, and many more spaces, the Urban Green Plaza benefits both urban areas and problems of farming. The urban greens help in reducing pollution and maintain the local temperature whereas urban farming produces healthy products. One support other and balanced might be maintained between the urban environment and food production.
